Most of my products start in black, white and grey. Tools like Attio, Linear and Folk showed me that calm interfaces let the data speak.
Color is a signal, not a decoration.
When everything is colorful, nothing stands out. So every color gets a job: blue for action and AI, green for success, amber for warnings. If a color has no job, it doesn't ship.
This rule makes dense screens easier to scan, and it keeps tokens small. Fewer colors means fewer decisions for the team, and fewer ways for the system to break.
